When I was 55, I was diagnosed with prostate cancer. After the initial shock wore off, I said to myself, “WHAT IS THE BEST WAY TO DO THIS?” It was a challenge I tried to face head on. I used my art as a way of dealing with my healing process. I did my best not to panic, to treat the indignities with humor, and make the best of choosing very difficult options. In terms of spiritual, sexual, and emotional preparedness, whatever happened, I was determined to go out with “no regrets” and leave behind some record of my journey.
